Life Path Numerology

Through the practice of numerology, it is believed that we can better understand the world around us by seeing number sequences in our daily lives. This spiritual discipline can also help us better understand our spiritual world.

With the help of a basic equation, anyone can discover their Life Path number, a single-digit number that is said to show us who you are, our deepest values, and the challenges we could face.

In order to work out your Life Path number, simply take your birthdate and reduce it down to its numerical value. For example, if you were born on July 5, 1989, you would first identify the separate values of the day, month, and year: July is the seventh month, so its number is seven. Your day of birth is, obviously, five. Finally, your birth year can be reduced to a single number by adding its digits together (1+9+8+9 = 27) and then adding that sum's digits together (2+7 = 9). So, you now have three numbers you need to add together (7+5+9 = 22) and yet another sum to reduce (2+2 = 4).

Dependent on your birthdate, you could end up with another double-digit number after this step — just keep reducing until you get down to a single-digit number. In this example, four would be your Life Path number.

If you are new to numerology but are familiar with astrology, it is remarkably similar to your Zodiac sign — it stands for both your personality, an overview of your life as well as an insight into your future.

"It provides you with an overview of what your tendencies and obstacles will be," In other words, this number can tell you a lot about your personality, but more importantly, it suggests what will be your life's greater purpose.

Life Path 1

The Innovative leader, self -motivated, independent and hard working.

Life Path 2

The Intuitive diplomat, seeks to help, detail and service oriented.

Life Path 3

The Creative Communicator, seeks connection, communication and creativity.

Life Path 4

The Teacher, seeker of knowledge, process building, stable.

Life Path 5

The Freedom Seeker, adventurous, fearless, pleasure seeking.

Life Path 6

The Visionary, seeker of Justice, stability, nurturing and responsible.

Life Path 7

The Spiritual Analyst, seeker of faith (sometimes reluctantly), intuitive, loves to learn.

Life Path 8

The Material Manifestor, seeks financial stability, power, dislikes authority.

Life Path 9

The Humanitarian, seeks surrender, is charismatic, a combination of all the previous life paths.

To use our earlier example, a number four Life Path suggests that you thrive on structure and crave security. When you work within the parameters of your Life Path number by, say, sticking to a regular routine and maintaining your health, you will feel more connected and centered. When we are in alignment with our Life Path purpose, we can feel on track, energised, and on point.

By contrast, if you are on a number four Life Path and make risky decisions, splurge on unnecessary expenses, or skip your annual health checkup, you are likely to feel out of your element and more than a little lost. Everything we experience in our lives has to do with our life path and purpose.

Does this resonate for you?
